1968 - How to Pelican can....or, Birds of a Feather: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush they say - so you
e well up on points if youve get two on the grass. Especially if ones a dancing pelican and the other a pretty girl - you can ignore proverbs. 20-years-old blonde Gillian Houghton, of Plymouth, was reading peacefully on the grass in the garden when suddenly a Pelican appeared, and clambered rudely on her back. Not only that - he stayed there and decided this was the place to relax. Gillian didn seem to mind as this is the sort of thing that always happens around where she lives - as she is the daughter of a keeper of Plymouth Zoo. Photo shows AS Gillian settles down on the Grass with a back the Pelican takes up a comfortable position on her back. (Credit Image: (c) Keystone Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com/Mary Evans)
