Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

Feb. 17, 1953 - Young porcupines in the Munich Zoo.: Two young porcupines, and Moritz, were born in the Munich Zoo Hellabrunn. As usually with porcupines they saw from the very first moment and immediately examined their neighborhood. They were also at once able to run around quite curious in their cage. Porcupines are very precocious animals: after some days they can already eat turnipo, bread and potatoes. To protect the before enemy beasts their quills will soon become as pointed as a needle and as hard as steal
