Apr. 25, 1956 - Rajah's as gentle as a puppy - and he's a lion: Ever thought what it would be like having a full-grown shaggy mained lion about the house? Well, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farrer at Southport, Lancs, Zoo did and have Rajah is both an exhibit and a pet. Sometimes he even goes inside their caravan, and at any time Mr. Ferrer is welcome in Rajah's cage. She often uses him as a foot-rest, and regularly takes him for walks on his chain. Locals are quite used to seeing this unusual pet around. Rajah is frequently used in film,s and he earns a fair-sized income from his appearance. Photo shows Mrs. Frank Farrar sits and reads the paper with her feet comfortably resting a Rajah in his cage at the Southport Children's Zoo
