Jan. 01, 1958 - The Bravest Dog Of The Year - Receives Silver Cup And The World's Biggest Dog Biscuits: A ceremony was held at the Waldorf Hotel, London this morning - at which Fly - the bravest dog of the year and her master 68 years old Stockman Tom Powell were the guests of honour. Arranged by the National Association of Dog Biscuit Manufacturers - they were presented with the Association's silver cup - and the biggest dog biscuit in the world - which measures two feet square and which weighs 23lbs.'Fly saved her masters life - when Mr. Powell was cleaning out the the bull pen at Lower House Farm, Arddlean, Montogomeryshire - when the bull suddenly turned on him - knocked him down and pinned him against the wall. Three times he rammed Mr. Powell in the chest with his head - as he had been thrown close to the will - the horns missed. The Fly came rushing in - charged at the bull nipping his heals with her sharp teeth - the bull charges the dog - and the dog leaped at his nose.
