Jul. 07, 1957 - SWAN UPPING IN THE THAMES.. The traditional Swan Upping commenced this morning on the River Thames. The proceedings were directed by Mr. Richard Turk the 82 year old Swan Keeper of the Worshipful Company of Vintners. Mr. Turk has carried out this task for the past 54 years - he is 82.
