Nov. 11, 1958 - Afghan hounds trial at new Cross Stadium: Afghan Hounds owned by Mrs. Jean Briggs were to be seen being schooled at New Cross Stadium this morning behind the electric hare. Mrs. Briggs has been given permission to train the dogs at New Cross although there is no possibility of them racing against greyhounds or competing in a Greyhound meeting. They could later chase the dummy hare - and may evening be used in a Cavalcade of speed display as they are still in the Kindergarten stage. Photo shows Mrs. Jean Briggs taking a huddle with Sue of Futuyu one of her hounds at the stadium this morning
