Sep. 09, 1958 - The Dog on a Stretcher. A stretcher case is carried away yesterday at the army veterinary depot at Melton Mowbray, Leicester. He is Son, one of the three injured patrol dogs taken there after the lorry in which they were traveling was in collision with an ammunition train at Kineton, Warwick. Six soldiers were killed. Four of the 12 Alsations in the lorry also died. Son was carried to him kennel after having a crushed paw and broken leg treated and bandaged
