Jan. 10 Gorilla apes his keeper - and learns to swim: Water play is not something gorillas enjoy : in fact they have an aversion to it, Aruns, a 7 year old gorilla at Nigeria's Ibaden Zoo, is an exception to the norm - she loves the water, and is learning to swim by copying the movements made by her keeper. To prevent Aruna and her mate from drowning by getting out of their depth, the most of the gorilla compound has been provided with an electrified fence and underwater rails. Swimming lesson over - it's time for a game
