Jan. 10 POOYA PEEKS over the cop of mother Matilda's fur-fringed ears in his premiere appearance before the public Thursday (Aug. 6) at the San Diego Zoo. The new koala baby and his mom will be seen on a closed-circuit television in the Zoo's koala exhibit while both are isolated as a precautionary measure until Pooya grows up. Pooya is nearly eight months old and is named after an Australian city. He is the 13th member of the Zoo's koala colony. The San Diego Zoo is the only place in the world outside of Australia to exhibit this silver-gray marsupial species
