Feb. 25 Undignified But Effective: Making their first public appearance at Whipsnade Zoo today were the twin female polar bear cubs Tiyak (she bear) and Tineak (little one who walks to the sea) who were born to Nanook and Maya, 12 weeks ago. Photo shows One of the cubs got into difficulties at the bottom of a large step and couldn't climb up. After a little thought, mother Maya reached down and picked the cub up the the seat of her pants'. The other cub takes refuge under Maya in case she comes in for some of the same treatment
