Feb. 25 Charly Prepares For His Special Christmas. For Charly, the Chipperfield Circus chimp, this Christmas is something special. It's his 25th - would you believe?. And Charly's so keen to make it a Christmas to remember, that he's doing all he can to help with the preparations. We found him, at the Circus winter quarters near Woodstock in Oxfordshire, hard at work mixing the Christmas puddings, Unfortunately though, most of the never got to be cooked, owing to the mixture having been eaten. Anyway, Charly, who is 26, seemed to be enjoying himself, and even invited Joanna and Susan, two of the Circus girls, along for a taste of his special pudding mixture.
