Feb. 25 A Century Old Feeding Bottle Saves These Baby Lambs. Modern methods are scorned by expert Miss Mabel Hawkins. Using a 100-year-old stone jar feeding bottle with feeding tests all round it, she is saving four lambs rescued when less than a week old and which had been advertised as for sale as pets by a Sussex farmer. When Miss Hawkins, who runs the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare at Ringmen, saw this she was horrified and promptly succeeded in buying them. Now they are doing well, having been nursed from a condition in which she claims they were almost sure to die. The earthenware jar, originally used for feeing puppies, was called a foster feeder, and with teats fitted to the original nipples, it has provided the ideal solution for feeding the little quartet. The thriving youngsters have now been christened Lamb Chop, Mint Sauce, Lamb Cutley and Shepherd's Pie
