Feb. 26 Talk About Feeding-Time At The Zoo! Feeding Time at Mrs Doris Gash's animal sanctuary is always something of a cosmopolitan affair - if cosmopolitan is the right word. Perhaps multi-racial would be a better description of the get-togethers at moal-time, when as likely as not, you'll find Rocky the rat joining Tarquin the tangerine cat at the feeding bowl. Mrs Gash runs her sanctuary at Tilehurst, near Reading, Berkshire, without any backing from the animal welfare organizations, providing the necessary funds herself. She works tremendously hard - and long hours into the bargain - caring for the animals that are brought to her after being found injured or abandoned. Her aim is to provide them all with good homes on recovery. So far she has done just that with 4, 000 animals. Quite a record, don't you agree? Currently, the untiring Mrs Gash is looking after Percy the pelican, found with an injured wing, Hoppity the rabbit, Robertson the here and two cats: Tarquin and Snowy. But we expect she'll soon have some more inmates
