Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

Feb. 29 No slouch of a pouch: From the start in was a friendship of mutual convenience: the worrisome little newcomer of a brown bear cub, bearing the unlikely name of Sir Francis Chichester, and the amiably cooperative pelican Percy who after four years of being gawked at in England's Plymouth Zoo, has learned to accept the curiosity of his fellow creatures as a fact of life. SInce there is a scarcity of pelicans of pal around with in the zoo. Percy doesn't pay much attention to the birds-of-a-feather rule. As for Sir Francis, there is the simple fact that one of these days it's bound to be winter again. So why wait to the last possible minute to scout out a very warm at palatial pouch to hibernate in?
