Feb. 29 The Mediterranean Yields Ancient Shipwreck Finds: 11 divers from the naval Air Command Sub Aqua club have come up with several interesting finds during their three weeks search for ancient hulls on the Mediterranean floor. the team's first find was the ancient wreck of a Greek trading ship that went down off Syraouse more than 2, 700 years ago. Other interesting finds included the wreck of a Roman vessel that sank in Ognina Bay, Sicily, in about 300BC. Ancient relics have been brought to the surface in lifting bags, and have now been handed over to the National Museum at Ayracuse. Photo shows.
