Mar. 02 Piglets with the iron age look A group of archaeologists reconstructing an iron age farm at Petersfield, Hampshire, wanted to stock it with piglets with the black and ginger characteristics of iron age domestic pets so they approached farmer Joe Henson at his farm near Cuiting Power, Gloucestershire. He already had a primitive-type Tamworth ginger sow, and London Zoo had a wild boar in captivity which they gave him, and the result of the match is a litter of seven ginger coloured piglets all with the necessary black stripes. Says farmer Joe Henson: I am certain we now have the only litter of its kind in the world. Photo Shows: The Tamworth ginger sow with her iron age piglets
