Mar. 27 Babe from the Woods: When 10 year old Stephen Blendell, found a caby squirrel in Highgate Woods the RSPCA were pessimistic as to whether Winky, the family cat who had just given birth to kittens, would consent to take into her family as one of her own and feed it. They were wrong, For it turned out that greater love ha no cat then Winky, and now Samy the squirrel is well and truly one of the felino family. Can't help you being so slow, mate! says Sammy as he plays leap frog over Tommy the Tortoise, another of Stephen's pets. But Tommy isn't joining in, not on purpose, anyway. He's set his eyes on that suculent lettuce leaf and no darned orphan squirrel is going to prevent him from getting to it even if it takes hours
