Mar. 02 Polar Bear Falls into Harbor. A polar bear on its way to Hamburg Germany, yesterday caused quite a stir when it broke out of its cage on board the ship, and walked along the quayside at Bergen Harbor. In trying to get aboard another ship, it fell into the sea. After several hours, the police and harbor officials managed to recapture the bear and return it to its cage.
