Mar. 02 Elephant Dies at London Zoo - The African Elephant, called Diesie, Died yesterday at the London Zoo. She had been catching food thrown by Spectators when another elephant tried to bump it out in front of the elephant compound and could not get to its feet. Not Even the Zoo's crane could lift the elephant. Diksis nearly pulled it over. A Stranger Crahs was brought, but it was too late. Diksis died before she could be resoued. She was in the tranch four hours. Diksis, aged 27 and the oldest of the Zoo's four Elephant, weighed four tons. Diksis on her fest after she had been pushed by another elephant into the pit surrounding their paddock at London Zoo Yesterday. She died before she could be rescued
