Mar. 27 Introducing The World's First Leopons Made In Japan'. For the first time in the world - the keepers at the Hanshin Park zoo, near Osaka, Japan - have succeeded in mating a Leopard and a Lioness - and two Leopard - lions have been born - known as Leopons'. Previously lions and tigers have been mated to produce Ligers - a Lioness and a tiger producing Lipards The Leopard named Koshic is 4 year 9 months old and came from the Hagenbach Menagerie, Germany, while Sonoko the lioness, almost the same age was born at the Osaka Zoo. The two cubs - born on Nov, 2nd are 4 kilos each in weight, with aces like lions and bodies spotted like leopards. Before the mating the parents were injected with hormones.
