Apr. 17 Status Symbol For A Donkey: The donkey has always been regarded as a sort of poor relation of the horse whose status symbol has never been questioned. But at last the donkey, whose department is completely different to that of its relative the horse, is coming socially speaking into his or her own. For the first time this year donkeys will be on show at the Royal Windsor Show (May 26th-28th) and at the Royal Show, Kenilworth (July 5th-8th). All the donkeys who will be attending these shows have been bred at Ruffa Orchard Donkey Stud which is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Robin Borwick who have made a special study of donkeys. They say that a donkey's one ambition is to be a very personal pet. And they are pleased to report that the trend to keep donkeys as pets is growing in the most surprising way. People find that a donkey is a kindly animal and not being a herding animal lives quite happily in a garden.
