Apr. 17 Big brown eyes and silky soft ears are just some of the endearing qualities of Bambesa, a 10-day-old female okapi at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Bambesa and her mother made their public debut today (Oct. 20) and will be on exhibit everyday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weather permitting. Visitors to the wildlife preserve may see the duo from aboard the Wgasa Bush Line monorail. Okapis were first discovered in 1901 in the equatorial forests of Zaire.They are rare in captivity
