Beeps The Cat Who Refuse To Abandon Ship': The R.R.S. Discovery, the famous sailing ship which took Capt. Scott to the Arctic lies at her mornings on the Thames Embankment, empty and deserted, for Sea Scouts who used as her training ship can no longer afford the cost of keeping her. Not quite empty, however, and not quieted deserted, for there is one soul aboard who refuse to obey the order abandon ship and like a ship's captain is determined a stick to his ship until the last moment. This is Beep the ship's huge black cat who has never put his four paws ashore since he was taken aboard the Discovery as a tiny kitten by one of the Sea Scouts. But Beeps is not forgotten, a Sea Scout has been detailed to go abroad every day and feed him and he will stay aboard when the discovery goes into dry dock to be surveyed.
