Feb. 29 Shepherd dog becomes foster mother to a tiger baby A newly born tiger cub Ganga at the Berlin Zoo, was abandoned by its mother immediately after birth. The zoo authorities sent out an S.O.S. to animal lovers for a foster mother. Astra, a sheep dog soon arrived, complete with her own baby Benno. Now Astra has taken on the role of foster mother with complete success and Benno is a first class playmate for the tiger cub.
