Mar. 31 A real cowgirl: 11-year old Christine Atkins is a cowgirl in the truest sense of the word. For she likes nothing better than going for a gallop on the back of Agnes, a nine hundred weight Friesan cow. Christine can be regularly seen going for a ride on three-year-old Agnes in the fields at Greenways Farm, Maidenhill, Penrith, Cumbria. Her father, Mr. John Atkins, who works on the farm as a herdsman, said: Christine has a way with animals, and one day she just climbed on Agnes back and that was it. She always wanted a pony, but now seems quite happy during around on the back of a cow
