Mar. 31 Charly prepares for his Special Christmas: For Charly, the Chipperfield Circus chimp, this Christmas is something special. It's his twenty-fifth, would you believe? And Charly's so keen to make it a Christmas to remeber, that he's doing all he can to help with the preparations. We found him, at the Circus's winter quarters near Woodstock in Oxfordshire, hard to work mixing the Christmas puddlings. Unfortunately though, most of them never got to be cooked, owing to the mixture having been eaten. Anyway, Charly, who is 26, seemed to be enjoying himself, and even invited Joanna and Susan, two of the Circus girls, along for a taste of his special pudding mixture. But he made sure they only got the smallest portion for tasters! Photo shows Charly, looking every inch a cordon bleu chef, mixes his Christmas puddings
