Apr. 16 About 50 percent decreased in the last years the amphibian population in Bavaria/West-Germany. Blame for it are partially the highways and streets, which without consideration crosses the centuries old toads ways. These animals die in a great number under the wheels of care, this is to bring a further pauverization of the nature and also it is a not to undervalue traffic endangering. The Bavarian Ministry for environment together with the country office for protecting environment intends to go new ways to protect the toads. Its tried with the help of funnel shaped ending fences to drive the toads into a corner, to thread the animals in little passages under the streets.
