Mar. 31 Introducing Frances The Pigmy DonkeyLatest Pet for the Whipsnade Zoo. The latest arrival at the Whipsnade Zoo is Frances daughter of Jacko and Jennie pigmy donkeys from Ceylon and is just three weeks old. The Zoo Superintendent chose Jacko and Jennie, as they were the smallest donkeys available and is Frances develops according to form she will be a tiny tot all her life. Her parents are about the size of a Newfoundland dog. Pigmy donkeys are used as beasts of burden in many parts of Asia and have a reputation of being strong and very spirited. Keystone Photo Shows: Eighteen year old visitor to the zoo, Mlle Andree Malaquti who comes from Cannes finds Frances and ideal pet, very light very affectionate and easy to carry and cuddle.
