Mar. 02 EWE Silly cow: The Ayrshire/Jersey crossed cow of farmer George Carins has created what George thinks is a record. For she has fully accepted four orphaned lambs, not only allowing them direct access to her milk, but also washing and generally mothering them. Their own mother died during the birth at the Broomhall Farm, Ponteland, Newcastle so George Carina decided to use the cow's milk, he tried the direct approach and was certainly surprised to see it worked. Now foster mum and her lambs are all thriving
