Mar. 02 A Rare Event is Expected at Chester Zoo: A very rare event is expected any time now at Chester Zoo, where the most valuable animals, a pair of Mountain Gorillas are expecting a happy event. Mukisi the male, was separated as soon as Noelle's condition became obvious. Thin was no time to risk a rough and tumble. But as the happy couple had been together from Babyhed when they to Chester Zoo back in 1960from Central Africa. the keepers took pity and gave them a spy hole in their party wall. It will be the first mountain gorilla ever born in Britain and only the second born in captivity anywhere, and as there are only 14 of the animals in world zoos, the expected baby will be beyond price. Now that Noeile is nearing her time, she can't get close enough to peer through the hole, but Mukisi keeps watch, grunting his satisfaction, and like all expectant fathers, paces the floor in his impatience.
