Mar. 02 Mother refuses her child This gruel thing happened some days ago in the Frankfurt zoo, where this little orangutan baby was born. Its mother, 12-year-old orangutan female Lady, was not willing to let the new-born drink. The little one, birth-weight three pounds, was therefore given to a nurse, the keeper Doris Podolczak. The little orangutan obviously does not miss its real mother and seems to be quite happy with his nurse! Keystone picture 8th November, 1968
