Apr. 18 Once more wolves in Bavarian Forest, W-Germany : The national park Bayerischer Wald - Bavarian forest -which has been in construction for one year one has got one more attraction. Once more there are wolves in the forests, where the last wolf was exterminated 150 years ago. The wolves do not of course live freely in the national park, but in a preserve in Waldhauser, a small village in the middle of the national park. Co-inhabitant in house and preserve and member of the pack is Dr. Erik Zimen. a behavioral scientist at the Max-Planck -Institute for behavioral psycology. The research needs tame wolves. In order to achieve this purpose Dr. Zimen an his wife take puppies in the age from one to three weeks to them and bring them up. In this way they succeeded in getting five tame and completely friendly animals out of ten. One of these became somewhat too friendly and unfortunately as aggressive and so too dangerous, so that it had to be placed in a zoo. The other four, though, developed quite normally. They have lived together with these four wolves.all from the same parents, for three year now (Illegible)
