Apr. 05 Pooh Corner At London Zoo: When you next take a walk at London Zoo You must remember to visit Pooch Corner. At this corner you will find a bronze statute of a bear, which was sculptured buy Lorne McKean and is gift from the trustees of Pooch Properties who administer the Milne estate. The little bear has been p[laced there to commemorate Alan Alexander Milne and Ernest Shepherd and to remains the world of the original Winnie, ho was indeed a famous friendly American Black Bear. who came to London Zoo in 1914. Winnie was the cub mascot of a Canadian regiment Princess Pat;'s regiment - who left her in the zoo's safekeeping while they went to fight in France, Winnie lived for many years and became loved and known by many thousands of children, until her death in 1934.
