Apr. 17 The Mouse that lived in a Boot. When little Julie Gray, aged 6, of Brntwood, Essex, accidentally left the door of her pet mouse's cage open, it escaped, and Julie was most upset when a be search of the house failed to find good. Then, three weeks later, whilst clearing out a cupboard under the stairs, Julie's mother discovered the mouse Mickey in an old worn out pair of Julie's boots, in which he had taken up residence, and seemed to have come to no harm living in a boot. The mouse, much to Julies delight, was returned to his cage, but as he had made such a comfortable nest in the fur-lined boot, it was put into the cage as well, and Mickey the mouse still prefers to sleep in it rather than his own sleeping box.
