Mar. 02 INTRODUCING THE WORLD'S FIRST LEOPONS'. MADE IN JAPAN'. For the first time in the world - the keepers at the Hanahin Park Zoo, near Osaka -Japan have succeeded in mating a LEOPARD and a LIONESS - and two Leopard-lions have been born - knewn as Leopona'. Previously Lions and Tigers have been mated - to produce Ligers'; a Lioness and a tiger, produoing tigone': and there has been a lion and a leopardess union with the production of Liparde'. The leppard named KOSHIO is 4 years 9 months old and came from Hagenbaoh Menagerie Germany - while SONOKO the lioness, almost the same at the Osaka Zoo. The two cubs- born at the like leopards.Before the mating the parents were injected with hormones.
