Mar. 31 Elephant used in Testing the new Aerolumin platform truck: An easily manoeuvrable platform truck for carrying weights up to 20 cwts. is now being marketed by Industrial Trucks Ltd. The truck is constructed throughout with high duty aluminum alloys, with an underframe designed according to proven practise in heavy commercial bodywork construction and with an alley ribbed type floor section such as is used in many 12 ton brewery lorries. Thus, although the truck is extremely light, it is of immense strength and at Chessington Zoo today three-ton elephant Barbara was used to prove this. The dimensions of the platform are 54 long and 27 wide. Photo shows Barbara places its front legs on the new Aerolumin, platform, to test its strength at Chessington Zoo today
