The world only Leopons are growing up. Rare offspring in Japanese Zoo The 190 day old Leopon cubs half leopard and half lion born at the Hanshin Park Zoo, near Kobe, Japan are growing into fine looking animals. Their father is a leopard and their mother a lioness. The cubs are a male and a female, and while the female is unable to do so, he is rather more clumsy. The coat of the female is becoming light while that of the male, darker. Keystone Photo Shows: The Leopon cubs climb up the bars of their cage to get a better look at the onlookers. The male is as yet unable to climb the tree in their cage. JSS/Keystone
