Feb. 12, 1962 - TV appeal to save Foal: A newmarket stud made a TV appeal last week to save the life of a 3, 000 foal. The foal's mother, Red Hot Poker, died giving birth to it at Banstead Manor Stud, Cheveley, Newmarket. The appeal was for a mare in milk to help save the foal. A foster-mother was found as a result.
