Mar. 03, 1964 - Fight against Locust carried out in London; Hidden away in a top back room in Kensignton in London, a small staff of girls are waging war against locust plagues which are devastating areas thousands of miles away. Into this Operations Room flows information from around the globe-reports on locust movements, temperatures, winds etc. Once the course of a swarm is plotted, an alert goes out which is followed up with attack aircraft loaded with chemicals designed to destroy the enemy. The work performed by the Anti Locust Research Center in London is being applauded by the United Nations as a significant Western contribution to countries of the Western World. Photo Shows Locusts in captivity at the Anti Locus Research Center in London. There are more than 250, 000 which are used for research purposes
