Sep. 09, 1964 - Setting the trend in pets Bettina the mini donkey: Meet mini-moke. She is Bettina, the donkey no larger than a big dog. Just 3ft. tall from her hoof to shoulder. Bettins, pictured here with her young friend Richard Borwick and his father Mr. Robin Borwick, is the latest thing in household acquisitions - a pioneering in raising the status of donkeys from beasts of burden to pampered pets. One cannot help liking donkeys - but they are usually a little too big as household pets - so Mr. Borwick got to work on the problem and produced Bettina. Her mother was a normal sized donkey form Ireland - Father came from an unusually small breed from Peru. Now Bettina? who is four, lives in Mr. Borwick's house near Maidenhead, Berkshire
