Jan. 16, 1964 - Reindeer Slaughtering In Greenland: For the past twelve years, a new industry gas been pioneered in Greenland, based on the import od Norweign reindeer, which are being successfully bred so that the herds now number several thousands animals which are being used for their meat. The young herdsmen which are being used for their meat. The young herdsmen all come from Lapland, and have to serve an apprenticeship of about four years, following the herds on foot in the summer, and bu sky in the winter, stopping over night in little huts, More recruits are being taken as the project expands, and several young men are enlisting for the arduous life which they p[refer to factory jobs at home.
