Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

Feb. 02, 1966 - The marquis In the Lion's Den: Lions really are the amiable creatures, according to Henry Frederick Thynne, the Marquis of Bath. He illustrated the point yesterday by stepping into the den at Southampton Zoo and inspecting the quarantined threesome he calls Leo, Simba and Lisa. At Easter he is opening a 100-aere reserve for Leo, Simba and Lisa- and 47 others-at his ancestral home at Longleat, Wilts. And he hope that the public will drive through, at1 per ear. HE has put up a 12 foot high, two-mile fence round the reserve. but this is to satisfy neighbouring councils who have qualms about the project
