Oct. 12, 1966 - Lions Escape In France: Six lions terrorised a French village for eight hours yesterday, as police, firemen and circus workers took part in the hunt for them. The hunt began when a lorry rammed into a convey of circus caravans on the Paris Lille motorway, bursting open a cage. Police set up road blocks and warned the 754 villagers of Attiches to stay indoors. One of the lions had to be shot, but the other five were eventually rounded up.
