Jul. 07, 1964 - what is a mum? A mum is something very precious - especially when you are only a few weeks old - like this rare white handed Gibbon - seen at Chessington zoo, surrey. The baby was born five weeks ago- to the adult Gibbons - which are about five years old. The birth of this type of Gibbon is very rare in captivity. White handed Gibbons are found in South East Asia and their main diet is fruit and insects. This is the first one ever successfully reared at chessington zoo
