May 05, 1966 - The First Mongolian Wild Horse Foal To Be Born At The London Zoo For 36 years: Making its debut at the London zoo today was the rare Przewalski foal born in the Gardens on April 24th. It is first Mongolian wild horse foal to be born at the London zoo for 36 years. The new foal has been named Alpha'. His mother Lunar was received from Prague Zoo in November 1963. The foal's sire Tzar, was born a Whipsnade Park in June 1957, and same to the London zoo in May 1963. These rare animals are very seldom seen in the wild, in Mongolia and Chinese Turkestan.
