Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

Aug. 08, 1966 - Roe Idyll: Whilst mowing grass last year, cooperative farmers wounded a little fawn. Hunters from Hradistko near Zeretice - not far from Joioni (East Bohemia) - took care of the animal and bandaged the injured leg. Mr and Mrs. Slivka took the fawn into their farmyard and nursed it back to health. In the Autumn, they set the now grown up roe free and it disappear into the woods. But to Mr. and Mrs. Slivka's surprise a month later Zuzka (which they had named her), was waiting in front of their garden fence to be let in. Another surprised came in May this year when Zuzka gave birth to three charming little fawns - which soon became friends with all the farmyard inhabitants - people and poultry alike. As soon as the fawns grow up they will be set free. May be this roe family will again spring a surprise on the Slivka family.
