Jul. 07, 1965 - Europe's Largest Catamaran Launched: Europe's largest catamaran, the 30-ton70, 000 vessel, Tsulamaran, was launched today at C. Prout's shipyard, at Convey Island. The boat was built by Prout's for Mr. Patrick Hall, director of a large engineering company. The vessel would normally driven by sails, but it is also fitted with two 100 h.p. Mercedes Benz diesel engines, giving a speed of about 15 knots. It is also fitted with the latest seagoing electrical equipment. Photo shows Mrs. Joan Prout, wife of one of the builders, Mr. Rowland Prout - breaks a bottle of champagne on the bows of the vessel at today's launching
