Jul. 07, 1963 - Hoppy is Happy again. Baby Wallaby and his foster mother.: Hoppy the unwanted wallaby was happy again last night inside his foster mother's pouch for Mrs. Sylvia Legge wife of the Supt. of Belle Vue Zoo Manchester has taken on the role of the wallaby's mother. His real mother threw him out of her pouch and refused to look after him - and it seemed the end for poor Hoppy who is only six inches long and looks like a miniature Kangaroo. Until Mrs. Legge came up with the idea of a home-made pouch. Now Hoppy goes everywhere with her around the Zoo flat. She says he is no trouble at all. He would have died had she not taken him in. Photo shows Mrs. Sylvia Legge feeds Hoppy at her home at Belle Vue Zoo, Manchester. He has to be fed 12 times a day. After all he is only four days old
