Apr. 20, 1966 - Two chimpanzee babies: Look a bit angry at the photographer. Michl and Fanny are not yet used to pose infront of a camera. Four months ago, just in time for the 30th annual celebration of the anthropoid apes station, Michl and Fannhy were born at Munich Zoo Hellabrunn as the 29th and 30th chimpanzees born at this place. In 1937 the first chimpanzees were brought into the world at Hellabrunn: Michl and Vroni. Michl on our picture is the grandson of Michl born 29 years ago. Because of this event the Munich Zoo can be proud to be the only one in the world having had four generations of chimpanzees. The visitors to Hellabrunn cannot admire Michl and Fanny yet, as they first have to learn running properly. Mr. Heinz Neidel, who takes care of the monkeys since 13 years, now feeds Michl and Fanny through a bottle and dresses them like human babies. Of course, he also has to state their weight each day. In a few months Michl an Fanny are allowed to get into the nursery of the Zoo, where the visitors can watch them
