Feb. 28, 1965 - Golden Eagle Escapes From The London Zoo - Recapture Attempts Fail; An attempt to recapture a Golden Eagle which escaped from the London Zoo yesterday were intensified today. The 7-year old male eagle swooped out of his cage over the head of his keeper yesterday and flew to a nearby tree, Several attempts by firemen, police and Zoo Officials to recapture Goldie failed. Today he was spotted at the top of a tall tree in the outer circle of Agent's Park. Photo Shows Goldie looks quite comfortable as he surveys the surroundings from his perch at the top of the tree
